History of Quality: What makes Hayden  Special

Hayden Portable Dance Floor Rentals was founded in 1956 by Ernie & Lois DiGennaro.  Ernie DiGennaro created the concept of a portable 3' x 4' dance floor panel that could fit together to make any number of sizes.

He came up with his unique idea after years of dancing professionally under the stage name: Ernie Hayden.

The Digennaros rented  dance floors in the Los Angeles area.  The floors became so popular that they decided to start manufacturing and selling them under the name of  "California Portable Dance Floors."

They later incorporated the two companies and dropped the Hayden name.  In 1995, they sold the rental division to Phil and Judy Maxwell. Phil and Judy, in keeping with the original, re-assumed the name "Hayden Portable Dance Floor Rentals, Inc."

California Dance Floors still manufactures and sells the dance floor panels.    Hayden Portable is currently owned and operated by Jennifer, Phil and Judy Maxwell's daughter.

As  you can see,  it's all in the family!

Being a small family-owned business means we never lose sight of the details.  We focus solely on dance floors, so our customers know that they will always get a superior product that is cleaned and serviced after every use.

We take pride in our quality and service.  Our family reputation depends on it. We like to say "we keep good company."

Note: Ernie DiGennaro passed away on September 10, 2003.  Somewhere, on the other side, Ernie is dancing again.
